iab have completed a number of projects for the University of Derby. For the most recent project, iab met with the end users to discuss the requirements for two new teaching laboratories. A major consideration in the design of the laboratories was the storage of heavy rock samples. This request was partly met using heavy duty drawer runners for new cabinets and the refurbishment of existing traditionally built wooden cabinets. A separate area for the storage and viewing of maps was created as part of the Geology Departments development. Here iab manufactured a series of large specially designed storage cabinets with roller doors, pull out filing racks and shelving for map and photograph storage. In keeping with the clients programme the work was completed on time and budget.
