We have completed another refurbishment for our regular client Spire Healthcare. This time we converted a unused patients room and cleaners storage room in to a pathology laboratory. As with all Spire Healthcare refurbishments we were employed as the principle contractor. By working this way with the client we are able to control all aspects of the project, meaning that the outcome is always to our highest standard. We worked closely with Spire’s Cambridge pathology laboratory staff to produce a design and layout that worked for their day to work flow. The design was completed in a way to maximise the amount of benching and space for a Cobas C311. The pathology laboratory was divided up in to 4 areas – Blood Transfusion, Sample Reception, Blood Science and Histology. We used a combination of fixed walls and furniture dividers to create these areas.
