In 2013 iab secured a high profile laboratory consultancy project with Cyprus International University in Northern Cyprus.iab’s brief was to take control of the laboratory design process from a blank canvas through to a detailed series of plans and outline specifications. Whilst the layout of the building was already agreed and construction started the layout and function of each laboratory was left blank.

The success of any laboratory consultancy project is the quality of the information gathered to provide the building blocks for the final design.The gathering of the information at the start of the design process is the most time consuming and important item.Choosing the right materials, agreeing the type of work to be carried out in each area and understanding the work flow or teaching patterns is vital to the success of a project.

The project at Cyprus International University has now entered the manufacturing stage with iab maintaining a watching brief, checking production drawings, monitoring quality and eventually carrying out snagging of the finished installation.

As demonstrated by this project iab have the ability to take a clean sheet and provide well engineered laboratory designs using the appropriate materials at cost effective prices. iab have 25 years’ direct experience back with over 48 years’ personal knowledge from our Managing Director.
