iab were appointed to design and convert a building for Biovex at Milton Park Oxfordshire to provide a series of containment level 2 laboratories for research into a new class of potent vaccines to treat viral diseases. The original project was tendered to design and convert two parts of an existing office building into a series of containment level 2 laboratories. Following an extensive review process iab won the contract based on a competitive tender and practical design ideas. The project included the removal of all internal fixtures, fittings, mechanical and electrical services. iabs designs created a series of containment level 2 laboratories, with full HVAC installation, new mechanical and electrical services, partitioning, ceilings, floors and decorations. The project was completed in 12 weeks on time and on budget.
