Meet the iab team

Having spent 50 years in the industry with the last 30 years running a successful family business John now becomes CEO. The business started in 1990 and has progressively increased in stature in this specialist market.

As the major shareholder he continues to be involved in the business providing technical support to the team. The day to day running is past to Helen with support from Adrian and Andrew. The past is behind us, but the future looks secure with exciting opportunities. 

Helen graduated Lancaster University in 2001 and started working as a project engineer for iab in 2005. Helen became a director of the company in 2012 and took over as Managing Director in 2017 when the CEO John Arran retired.

Over the last 15 years Helen has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in all specialist areas of laboratory design and construction. As well as undertaking the role of Managing Director Helen is a fully active member of the contract management team undertaking all aspects of the projects from enquiry through to completion.

Andrew joined the company full time in June 2008 as the accounts/office administrator with the view to being trained on all other aspects of the business.

During this time Andrew showed a great aptitude for the business and he is especially skilled at Engineering and AutoCAD software. He is now a full time Contracts Manager and is the company’s main AutoCAD Specialist.

Adrian joined the company in April 2012 as Sales Coordinator. In 2014 he became Sales Manager and is responible for sales and marketing nationwide.

Adrian is your intial contact and is responible for gathering all essential information to start the design and development process. With his techinal background iab are able to provide a comprehesive start to the process.

Nicola joined iab as Accounts/Payroll in 2011 on a part time basis.

As the business has grown over the last decade her hours and responsibilities have increased and Nicola is now Accounts and Payroll Manager as well as being the companies Quality Representative for ISO9001:2015. Nicola also looks after HR and training for the business.

Shannon joined iab-lab in August 2021 after returning to work from maternity leave.

She started out as a contracts assistant and after 9 months, she progressed to a contracts manager.

Prior to joining iab, she worked for a security company scheduling all engineers based in the East Anglia, South East and Central London areas. She joined iab-lab as she was eager to start something new, which would prove to challenge her, as well as offer her room to grow and continuously progress further in her career.
